Freshness and coverage

A projection is only as good as the moment it was built, so the product publishes two clocks and judges itself against both.

The two clocks

• The build clock: when the simulation last ran and produced these projections.
• The lines clock: when the posted lines were last refreshed by the line poller, which reads free feeds and never re-simulates.

They move independently. A board can carry a projection from this morning and prices from twenty minutes ago. The banner that reports a delay reads the build clock for staleness and reports the fresher of the two as the line age, because a rebuild is also a refresh.

Cadence differs by sport

Daily sports rebuild several times a day and are considered stale after eight hours. Football does not work that way: lines post a week ahead and a board deliberately kept between waves can be a day old without anything being wrong, so football carries its own longer bar rather than pretending to a daily cadence it does not have.

When a forecast ages out

Past the bar, the serving layer removes the projection rather than serving an old number under a fresh looking page. The recorded line stays as inventory with the reason attached, so you can still see what was posted and what was withheld. This applies only to what is served. Stored snapshots and grading are untouched, which is what keeps the historical record honest.

What unavailable means

A missing number is a fact, not a gap to fill. Market % is empty where no sportsbook reference exists for that sport. A price is unpublished where the app did not publish one and only an aggregator attached digits to the row. Research history reads unavailable where the store holds no rows for that market yet. In each case the product says which of those it is.
