Editorial Policy
Slateline publishes educational research about player prop markets. This page explains how that work is produced and what standards every article must meet before it appears here.
Who writes this library
Articles are published by Slateline as an organization. We do not use invented expert bylines, fictional credentials, or a pretend newsroom. Where drafting assistance from software tools is used, a person reviews every claim, every source, and every sentence before publication, and remains responsible for all of it.
Sources and factual claims
Externally verifiable factual claims must carry a citation to the exact page that supports them, with a preference for primary sources: league rules, official documentation, and established statistical references. Claims we cannot source get rewritten or removed before publication.
Illustrative numbers appear only inside clearly labeled example blocks using fictional players and situations. We do not publish invented statistics, records, injuries, prices, or model performance, and we do not present examples as live data.
What we will not publish
We do not publish guaranteed outcomes, so called locks, or any language that implies certain profit. We do not publish picks for the sake of fresh content. We do not copy competitor work. We do not accept payment for coverage, and if a sponsored relationship ever exists it will be disclosed on the page and its links qualified accordingly.
Model claims
When an article references Slateline projections, the claims must match what the product actually shows, including its limitations. Our graded record, calibration, and methodology are public in the Model Room. A market edge is only called a market edge where a displayable market reference exists; otherwise we describe model versus line analysis. Sports whose engines await season data are described that way, never as live.
Dates, updates, and corrections
Publication dates are real and never backdated or refreshed to look current. When an article receives a substantive update, we set and display an updated date; cosmetic edits do not change any date.
